You can make a new Tennessee LLC or Tennessee corporation through the TN business services one stop business formation online portal.  This will get your filings done quicker.  Especially since the TN SOS requires original inked signatures on your filings.  This avoids the whole slow down entirely.  You’ll receive confirmation of the filing in about 2 days.  If you file by paper, you have your mail time, and the state takes about 4 days to approve it.  So you’ll save at least 4 days if you do your business filing online.

Out of state corporations get put through the ringer with a huge filing fee.  Tennessee LLCs and out of state LLCs have a $300 minimum fee, but it could be WAY more if you have a lot of members of the LLC.  It costs $50 per member.
